When we met Ron and Melissa at a trade show, we immediately hit it off.  They were excited to be searching for someone to design their new forever home and their energy was inspiring.  After discussing the desires for their home in great detail, Project Design Manager Tim Crowley told them that they really didn’t need to go to the other booths at the trade show because their search for a  designer was over.  Everyone laughed, but they noted that since they were there, they might as well check out our competition.  Needless to say, about an hour later they came back and said, “You were right!”.  The design process moved quickly and we created the plans together for what would become a work of art.  Our partners at Heavy Timber Truss & Frame were part of the team.  They helped bring the plans alive by aiding in the design and then manufacturing the massive oak timbers for the interior, the stately western red cedar timbers for the exterior and the structurally insulated panels (SIPs) for the walls and roof of the home.  We even got to spend several days onsite during the timber raising and installation of the SIPs.  One highlight was watching Ron pound in the first wood pegs into the mortise and tendon joinery!
